what changes has to  be done in software code if in place of DHT11 we use LM35 sensor or simple potentiometer

we have tried but at receiver side we are getting false value. here is the code for reveiver side

#include <VirtualWire.h>

//LiquidCrystal  lcd(2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7);

char SensorCharMsg1[4];
char rxAray[8];
int j,k;

void setup()
{

  Serial.begin(9600);
  //pinMode(ledPin, OUTPUT);
  pinMode(9, OUTPUT);
    pinMode(8, OUTPUT);
    vw_set_ptt_inverted(true);
    vw_setup(2000);
    vw_rx_start();

} // END void setup

void loop()
{
    uint8_t buf[VW_MAX_MESSAGE_LEN];
    uint8_t buflen = VW_MAX_MESSAGE_LEN;
    j = 0;
    k = 0;
    if (vw_get_message(buf, &buflen))
    {
    int i;
       for (i = 0; i < buflen; i++)
           {
             rxAray[i] = char(buf[i]);
           }
        rxAray[buflen] = '\0';
        while( j < 2)
       {
          SensorCharMsg1[j++] = rxAray[j++];
       }
    Serial.print(" temp =  ");
     Serial.println(SensorCharMsg1);
    }
}
