can anyone suggest me the circuit diagram for overvoltage protection in lead-acid batteries..
main concept is to cut-off the circuit when the battery is fully charged..

but one doubt , i just want to know how does the circuit cuts-off when it is fully charged
September 25, 2012 at 6:30 pm #8611AJISH ALFREDParticipantHi Thenmozhi,
Its very simple. Consider the following section of the ciruit,
When the battery is charging, the potential at the point X is increasing, and hence the NPN transistor TIP41’s is getting less forward biased. The resistor 4ohm and 500ohm are so adjusted that when the battery reaches a particular voltage, the NPN forward biasing voltage reaches below cut-off range. At this point the transistor goes to cut-off state and battery charging stops.
I hope this clears your doubt!
September 27, 2012 at 9:23 am #8620V.ThenmozhiParticipantthank you sir for your kind reply… now we are in another project .. the concept is to check the brake of a car, then start the engine and then to turn on the a.c in step by step manner by sending a single s.m.s .. the circuit and all others are ready but now got strucked with the placement of the circuit inside the car.. can u suggest the position of placing it??
September 27, 2012 at 6:24 pm #8621AJISH ALFREDParticipantNice project, and I think you’ve done a great job.
I’m afraid to say, it won’t be appropriate to suggest a position for the placement of ciruit untill I know the details. I’ve no idea about the sensors you are using for checking the brake, no idea how you are checking the AC etc.
Anyway what I understood is that you have a main board, which receives SMS, and read the data from other sensing boards which are linked to the main board. There must be another board which can start the engine by receiving control signals from the main board.
If it is so, I think the sensing boards should be placed close to AC, Breaks etc, engine starting board to be placed near the start key wires. It would be better to place the main board somewhere near the dashboard.

September 28, 2012 at 4:06 pm #8626AJISH ALFREDParticipantHi,
I didn’t understand anything, could you please share more details about the requirement.
October 1, 2012 at 7:38 am #8634V.ThenmozhiParticipanthi sir ,
i just want the siren (circuit) which is used in ambulance and police car.it uses the ring counter and shift register principle to rotate and to glow continuously.
October 4, 2012 at 6:59 am #8638AJISH ALFREDParticipantHi Thenmozhi,
Sorry for late response. You can generate an ambulance siren using ring-counter cd4017. Just replace that 330 ohm resistance with your buzzer in the following circuit
October 8, 2012 at 10:55 am #8648V.ThenmozhiParticipantthank you sir for your advise.
now i m struck with another project. The concept is to send the message to the main system in control of the library when the book is misplaced, placed or missing . It should be done through RFID card
October 8, 2012 at 4:27 pm #8651AJISH ALFREDParticipantInteresting. So what help are you expecting with this project?
October 9, 2012 at 4:31 am #8652V.ThenmozhiParticipantsir can u suggest the c coding for USBdriver installation..
October 10, 2012 at 6:08 pm #8657AJISH ALFREDParticipantDo you want to install the usb driver in a PC? The thing is that, a driver wheather it is a USB driver, Serial port driver, Camera driver or anything else, it is always device specific. Which means the code differ for each device.
For example, a pendrive has one kind of driver, a mouse has another kind, a datacard has another.
You haven’t mentioned anything about the kind of USB device you have!!
