A capacitor blocks D.C. because capacitive reactance (Xc ) is inversaly proportional to frequency of the signal passed through it.
As frequency of the D.C. is zero, so the Xc becomes infinitive for D.C.
Thats the reseon why a capacitor blocks D. C.
