This WakeUp Clock breaks your sleep gently, with a simulated sunrise – the video below shows how. It is a quirky clock, which makes it a cool DIY. There is plenty of scope to personalize it, add more features, change the look and feel, connect it to internet – use your imagination the way you want; and you will have a fun new gadget in your room.
This WakeUp Clock uses a real time clock, an Arduino protoshield, an Intel Galileo board. MikeArduino, the creator of this gadget, employs one high power white LED of 3v 700mA capacity, one 1000 μF capacitor, a 1 2.1 mm DC jack-to-screw terminal adaptor and a 10k potentiometer. He houses the clock circuit in a laser cut wooden assembly that comes across as an alarm clock from olden days. Or perhaps you get that feeling from its user interface. The user gives his input to set the alarm time by using an alarm dial on the face of the clock.
Just days ago we shared Sunshine Alarm with you, which wakes up the user when the first rays of morning sun hits the clock. And here’s a clock that simulates early morning lighting to wake us up gently. Have we all turned into night zombies and now that we realize this do we yearn to follow the good old adage: early to bed and early to rise, makes one healthy, wealthy and wise?
