ARDUINO IOT APPS WITH TEMBOO

By Samidha Verma

Temboo, an Internet of Things (IoT) programming platform, added some new conditions features to its IoT mode interface. It has enabled powerful and rigorous development of IoT applications. It will connect Arduino to the internet of things in much easier way. Basically, they are providing readymade code for executing any cloud based process that is based on a hardware device physical context. The brand new conditions features is based on response from the cloud which enable devices to take physical action. For now, they are available for Texas Instruments and Arduino microcontrollers.

With the help of IoT Mode on the Temboo website, Arduino code can be automatically generated to execute Choreos which is ready-to-run. It means that you don’t have to write a single line of code yourself on your board. Here, you just have to mention the board and shield you want to use and which Choreo you want to run and like magic, all the necessary code will be generated in your browser that to immediately. With new features, it is possible to specify what sort of hardware inputs and outputs you want to use, then the code will be generated for the hardware connected to them to your Choreo.

The good news is that the functionality of Temboo’s Device Coder has been extended to all 2000+ Choreos in the Temboo Library. It means that it can be used to trigger any cloud process when data is collected from sensors attached to an Arduino Yun. The response from the cloud is used then to trigger all sorts of hardware actions on your board.

Furthermore, it is possible to use IoT Mode’s visual interface with new conditions now. It includes a pin selector tool that enables you to choose pins which you want to activate. You just have to specify how you want the pins on your Arduino or Texas instruments. It also provide a facility to how to interact with the Choreo you are running. The pin selector not only identifies the pins available on your board but also indicates whether those pins are configured to work with digital or analog I/O. The interface of pin selector will change to reflect the board and shield that you choose to work with. Everything you choose and specify will be reflected instantly in your browser like a production-ready program. It helps you to build a massive range of IoT applications quickly and easily

Think of a thermometer that sends SMS alerts instantly, or a motor that runs when it receives an email. Isn’t that fabulous? All you have to specify how you want your pins to interact with the web services you are using. And with the newly generated Conditions, whatever you will specify it will be reflected in a complete, production-ready program generated instantly in your browser.

For building hardware applications, IoT mode is made even more powerful with the help of conditions features added in the tool. It aims to connect the physical and virtual worlds, with the help of generated code itself.

About Temboo
Temboo program for software and hardware developers in easier, more efficient, and more powerful way, esp. for IoT developers.
