The team of of Arduinotronics were given a task to invent a device or an automatic sorter to conclude whether the fragments that were laser welded, centered on the consumers’ necessities, were either a “GO” or a “NO GO”. They were determined to invent something in-house that would be operative but inexpensive. Therefore, they agreed to opt for using an Arduino. But, not one person within the house had any familiarity with Arduino. Soon they realized that they need to put some more effort for this project, under certain guidance. Under the supervision of Steve, who already own some experience with the Mitutoyo product line including the knowledge for writing code and custom made circuit boards, the complete team willingly worked on this project and made it a success.
They have attached a complete video of the mechanism, where you can find the minute details. In the commencement of the affixed video, they have dealt in the R&D version for the operation. There is a dual interface board in it, which helps in gathering data from the two Mitutoyo indicator gauges and then direct it to the Arduino, alongside with a de-bounce cycle start button board for consistent initiating of the cycle. There is also Arduino, aforementioned, along with a 4 output relay board for the pneumatics and a breadboard back there.
The video moves to the front, where a “GO” part is being physically loaded (green top) and the cycle start button is initiated. The fragment is captured, the stepper drive begins rotating the part and the data from the Mitutoyo gauges is produced and sent to the Arduino in about 20 seconds. In this situation, the portion is appropriate so the pneumatic diverter at the lowermost does not move and the part drops through the hole on the left. When the procedure is replicated with a “NO GO” part (red top) the same evaluating takes place but in this stage the data is outside of what is satisfactory so the pneumatic diverter directs the part into the hole on the right for additional assessment.
