B&K Precision, a leading designer and manufacturer of reliable and cost-effective test and measurement instruments, has released the latest multi-range DC power supplies. The models 9103 and 9104 operate in constant voltage (CV) or constant current (CC) mode and deliver up to 320 W in any combination of its rated voltage and current – 42 V/20 A (model 9103) and 84 V/10 A (model 9104).
Owing to the lightweight and compact form factor, these models can replace multiple power supplies on a bench thus giving way to a wide array of applications including manufacturing, service and repair, engineering, and education. Unlike the conventional power supplies, these offer greater flexibility by extending the operating range beyond a single maximum power point.
These models can render any combination of higher voltage or higher current along a maximum power curve. Besides, the cost-effective design of these devices not only saves bench space but also eliminates the need to purchase power, unnecessarily.
The front panel offers a bright, dual 4-digit LED display, On/Off control, and simple keypad and rotary control knobs for voltage and current. It has a triple binding post output terminal that easily connects to double banana plug or wires. In addition, there are 3 user-defined voltage and current presets for quick recall. Configurable square, triangular, or trapezoidal waveforms can also be availed in transient operation mode.
Moving to the rear, the analog remote control terminal sets the output voltage and current or remotely enable/disable the output. The models offer a remote sense terminal for voltage drop compensation across output leads. There is also a standard USB interface for remote PC connectivity with the included software. Additional features include:
• Adjustable voltage and current limits
• Built-in overvoltage protection (OVP)
• Over temperature protection (OTP)
• Overload protection (OLP)
• Key lock function
Availability
B&K Precision’s 9103 and 9104 multi-range power supplies are backed by 2-year warranty and are offered at $495 each.
