Boxx recently introduced two new sidekick systems that aim to dump the render farms. In last few years, rendering has become a consistent part of engineering jobs. Renders are mainly used for pithing ideas to clients, selling products and creations to customers, and convince higher level management that the product they have prepared is worth investment and it will be safe to input resources in it. However, while rendering has been a huge part of engineering jobs very little efforts have been made to optimize its computational cycles and ravenous appetite.
Usually, companies have sorted out this problem either by owning a local render farm that is an assortment of machines owned by the very same firm. All these machines are tied together in form of a network resulting in an enhanced computer power, an outer farm that stays in the cloud. While both of such systems have their own benefits but are burdened with heavy load.
To start with, the local render farms can be utilized only when the system is not working. In case, a designer from your office is working on a machine, its computational cycles are extracted from farm’s reserves which decreases the power of network. It is for this reason, maximum render farms are highly engaged at night when offices are officially closed. It is true that cloud-based rendering decreases the productivity slowdowns faced by local farms, but, offsite options are mostly expensive.
So, what can an engineer do to find a better solution for her or his rendering? For this purpose, BOXX brought in two new kind of products: the renderPRO 1 and the renderPRO 2. According to BOXX, the renderPRO 1 is a complete computer system that supports the Intel Xeon processor with around 18 cores and 64GB of DDR4-2133 based memory along with a state-of-the-art cooling system. Apart from these features, the first product is also recognized for the components it works without which includes RAM, CPU, as well as a hard disk. The renderPRO 1 is a large-sized, frame-gobbling instrument that can bring down the rendering burden.
The next one is BOXX’s latest addition the renderPRO2. Unlike the renderPRO 1, this one is a smaller machine, however, its size is completely opposite to its power. Despite being so small it is potent enough to establish a workstation. This system will carry an Intel Xeon processor with 36 cores, one can add GPU to it and outfit it with around 128 GB RAM.
As per many industry experts, despite introduction of so many devices from reputed companies, future of rendering is being considered under cloud computing. There are numerous computational fonts that can be used by people to process images in these software.
