Computers, mobiles, tablets, etc., none of the social media interaction can exist if these machines are not made to do so. Smart programming and hardware integration have led to what we call “Social Media Revolution”. It is, however, quite ironic that how we don’t communicate with machines using these channels. Giving an identity to a machine over a social network is just a gimmick usually and hasn’t fetched any interesting applications yet. But, what if we tell you that if you have an Arduino, you can communicate to almost any machine in the house, that too, over a social network like Twitter? Yes, that’s crazy, but, right!!
This DIY lets you control the coffee machine through nothing but a simple tweet. For this extra-ordinary, all you need is some ordinary electronic stuff like a Smartphone, Arduino, a laptop with an internet connection, and of course the coffee machine.
Arduino is of course a gateway to breath taking hardware and software applications, but it is the helpful approach by Twitter through its Developers initiative that enables the integration. All one has to do in this DIY is connect the gadgets, download (and modify) the codes and load the coffee maker. You are now good to go with your Tweet to a Coffee machine and it will rarely say “no” to your requests.
Going more to the applicative scenario, this Twitter connect can be extended to any AC device irrespective of their size and use. Also, making it open source gives enough space to control multiple devices at once. A simple but very lucrative DIY to try with immense scope to test new things, this is a clear example that how different machines can be made to communicate using the power of code and internet.
