Coilcraft announces a new series of molded power inductors designed for high-current, low-inductance applications in fast DC-DC conversion systems. The components support ultra-low inductance values starting around 40 nH, enabling rapid transient response in low-voltage, high-current converter topologies.
These inductors are optimized for use in single-phase and multi-phase VRMs and point-of-load regulators, offering high current handling, soft saturation behaviour, and low DC and AC losses within a compact 3.2 × 3.0 × 3.2 mm package.
The design meets the AEC-Q200 automotive qualification and supports ambient operation up to 165 °C, making it suitable for demanding environments such as servers, data-centers, automotive power systems, and modern processors.
Engineers benefit from the small footprint, enabling higher density layouts, while the low inductance and high current capability reduce voltage droop and improve converter transient performance. The soft-saturation characteristic extends usable current range under surge conditions, and the low DCR and AC losses contribute to improved efficiency and thermal performance in high-current applications.
