This DIY lets you control your railway model with Arduino Mega Microcontroller. This is a huge project, so has been split in parts. This one here tells you how to create a controller/throttle with a basic acceleration and braking process with a 12V DC PWM output.

This blog has given detailed steps with proper Dos and Dont’s and his references along with his personal changes. We think it’s very detailed, which is really good, for beginners. He has used potentiometer as the throttle for speed. He added a brake lever to get the train to come to a gradual halt when stopped. You can hit the reverse button to accelerate the train.
