DIY things are done not only for fun but they can also teach you a great deal about things no one told you before. A similar experience was narrated by Becky Stern from Adafruit when developed a tutorial for creating a vibrating mindfulness bracelet. The tutorial basically teaches the primary things about creation of wearables with Arduino’s GEMMA. A pretty interesting DIY project that one can take up anytime and create some spectacular stuff for their personal use.
Becky used an Arduino GEMMA microcontroller and a vibrating motor for creating the bracelet. To make one such bracelet, the user can always begin by carving a cardboard template for chain links. You can move ahead by using either leather scraps or some inner tube from an old bike and cut out the complete figure in shape of 8. In order to create the two attachable ends, you will need to create two special corner pieces with elongated tabs and affix those with Velcro tapes or snap fasteners. The chain can then be built by placement of new link through previous one and then folding it flat.
Becky also adds that once you are done with a few folds you will need to add the GEMMA and pierce it with a small hole for the placement of resistor. You will also need a soldering iron for soldering the motor or diode with the transistor and resistor in between the loops of the bracelet with the help of circuit diagram. You can find the complete tutorial video over Adafruit Learning System.
The guide will help you in learning how to solder the circuit and all other required stuff. For visual details, you can check out the video here:
