CUI Inc’s Power Group has recently expanded the DoE Level VI and CoC Tier 2 compliant external power supplies portfolio with the addition of 30W and 40W desktop ac-dc power adapters. All the models in the series, viz. SDI30-U, SDI30-UD, SDI40-U, and SDI40-UD have been designed while keeping in mind the current average efficiency and no-load power requirements made mandatory by the US Department of Energy (DoE) under the Level VI standard.
Moreover, all these models also comply with the European Union’s (EU) proposed CoC Tier 2 directive, under review to become law in 2018. It further aims to tighten the efficiency requirements enforced by Level VI yet adding a new power consumption limit at 10% load levels. In other words, both the standards intend to bring down the amount of power consumption when either the end application is not in use or it’s no longer connected to the system.
Technical Specifications and Details:
The SDI30 and SDI40 series are housed in a compact package measuring 111 x 52 x 32.3 mm in dimension carrying a wide universal input voltage range of 90-264 Vac. Both the series are also offered with C8 or C14 inlets and single output voltages of 12, 15, 19, and 24 Vdc.
Further, the adapters carry UL/cUL, GS, PSE, and CE marks and meet the radiated and conducted emission requirements for FCC Part 15B Class B. These ac-dc power supplies also feature protection for over voltage, short circuit and no-load power consumption of less than 0.075 W. All the applications (including consumer, industrial, and ITE) where energy consumption is a matter of concern are ideally suited for these adapters.
Product Availability
The SDI30-U, SDI30-UD, SDI40-U and SDI40-UD series can be availed at the starting price of USD 14.58 per unit at 100 pieces through distribution.
Product Showcase
CUI Inc is going to showcase its Level VI and CoC Tier 2 compliant external adapters and the rest of its power portfolio at the APEC 2017. It is the premier event for Applied Power Electronics that focuses on the practical and applied aspects of the power electronics industry. It will take place at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, Florida from March 26-30, 2017.
