Digi-key and Marktech Optoelectronics Announce the Availability of Custom-Made Photodetectors

By Neha Rastogi

Digi-Key Electronics, a global electronics components distributor, and Marktech Optoelectronics, an industry leader in LED technology, products and solutions; have teamed up to offer custom-made Photodetectors, that will be specifically designed and optimised to meet the customers’ specifications and needs.

These custom-made detectors can be made out of a wide range of products from Marktech including phototransistors, InGaAs PIN photodiodes, silicon photovoltaic or photoconductive photodiodes, or avalanche photodiodes. Besides, the users will also be able to avail custom device packaging either suiting their specifications or as recommended by Marktech that best suits the customer’s applications. In order to obtain a device fully optimised to the application and mechanical design, the circuit designers simply have to fill a form at the Digi-Key website or on the Marktech Optoelectronics custom detector webpage.

“Marktech’s specialty has been in the design, testing, and manufacturing of custom detectors, emitters and assemblies,” said Mark Campito, CEO at Marktech Optoelectronics. “Partnering up with Digi-Key allows us to connect with a broad range of designers that normally wouldn’t be aware that these services are available to them.”

“As applications for photodetectors get more varied and complex, there is a need for our customers to design in components with tight specifications,” said David Stein, VP, Global Semiconductors at Digi-Key. “Having an option to obtain Marktech’s custom detectors through Digi-Key will make it easier for the design engineer and speed up the product development cycle.”
