Digital Alert Systems and Triveni Digital Roll Out ATSC 3.0 Advanced Emergency Alerting Starter Kit for TV Broadcasters

Digital Alert System (DAS) and Triveni Digital have come together to unveil the ATSC 3.0 Advanced Emergency Alerting (AEA) starter kit. It’s an introduction to the powerful nee emergency communications capabilities of the next-gen digital television standard. Through this starter kit, TV stations would be able to improve the way urgent information is communicated to the target audience. 

 

The kit integrates Digital Alert Systems’ DASDEC emergency messaging platform and AEA content management with Triveni Digital’s GuideBuilder® XM signaling and announcement generator, ROUTE/MMTP encoder, and a live source simulator. In addition to the support for EAS/CAP requirements, first-responder communications, and station multimedia, the kit also allows broadcasters to deliver advanced emergency alerts and auxiliary public safety information in the existing as well as future ATSC 3.0 environments. 

 

 

Initially, the kit will allow delivery of CAP- and EAS-Net –formatted alerts to ATSC 3.0 receivers. The stations equipped with a DASDEC Unit will just need to update their software to use the initial functionality. Besides, the Digital Alert Systems will deliver additional software updates during the year to add support for the ATSC 3.0 AEA format, and thus enabling receivers to perform a wide array of advanced emergency communications functions.
