Fujitsu has recently developed blockchain-based software in order to ensure secure data exchange networks. With the development of a proprietary data access control technology, Fujitsu wishes to promote interchanges of data accumulated by various organizations and companies.
The software is based on Fujitsu Virtual Private Digital Exchange Technology that can apply blockchain to control access to distributed data. It also facilitates registrations of data attribute information and ID information based on where the data is stored. It also manages the access control policy to limit the users who can obtain the data.
Owing to the widespread use of IoT, AI, and big data analysis, a lot of information is being recorded as data and shared by companies. However, there are various privacy concerns requiring external data storage. Fujitsu’s new software meets this requirement and allows individuals as well as organizations to share data while keeping them in the internal systems.

Key Features
• Data providers can record all the information linked with the data storage on the blockchain’s distributed ledger while the data stays where it’s stored. Hence they don’t have to allow users to download the data directly; rather the data is encrypted and sent to the users who, in turn, have to provide their ID information.
• While registering information on the blockchain, data providers can manage the access policy of each data set thus selectively granting access to the distributed ledger.
• The software features smart contracts that automatically execute a series of processes after the data has been requested, from data request to transmission.
• It is based on the Hyperledger Fabric, a consortium-type blockchain and was created by developing proprietary smart contracts executed on the blockchain.
