The questions on IoT security are on high since the recent DDOS attack that took place on 21st October. The attack took in millions of IoT devices that were compromised giving a solid reason to IoT companies and consumers to be concerned. Microsoft is taking a serious dig in the situation now and recently introduced a Security program for Azure IoT. It will permit Azure IoT users to examine their IoT framework and maintain security risks associated with it. While the company refrains from directly pointing out the DDOS attacks, the timing of this program’s introduction clears its intent to quite an extent.
The new program will provide Azure users with a choice to select from multiple hand-picked security auditors to perform a ground check on their IoT solutions. The primary security auditors include CyberX, Tech Mahindra, Praetorian, and Casaba Security LLC.The company further adds that the list will keep growing as the program expands. Azure users will be allowed to select their security auditors that the audit will take care of every aspect related to their security. The security program will includes everything right from business devices to cloud communications, gateways, assets, and so forth.
