If you love to long board then you’re at the right place. Even if you don’t own one, you’re still at the right place. This DIY Motorized Long Board comes with detailed instructions of how you can make one for yourself at the comfort of your home. And no, we are not talking about the Longboard Therapy, we are talking about the real deal here.
This guy made a longboard, from a trash can, quite literally and it looks pretty neat. The coolest part about it is that it is motorized and DIY-able. To retain the flexibility of the board and the batteries from bending, he has made use of parallel ridges in a corrugated enclosure and also kept in mind the stretching of the wires in case of bumps.
This motorized longboard might sound like rocket science, but it’s really not. The video and image compilation gives a fair idea of what-to-do-next. What you need for this assembly is a pair of fiberglass, mold to hold the batteries, 18 26650 A123 26650, sheet of rubber, screws to hold everything together, motor wheel pulley, washers, RC airplane controller, a switch and the usual soldering and drilling equipments.
This longboard promises a top speed of 35kph. Why don’t you try it out and let us know, how it went!
Keep calm and longboard on!
