Flora is Adafruit’s wearable electronics platform. It is 1.75″ diameter and has been made using the Atmega32u4 chip that supports USB. This DIY here, made with Flora, with an Electret Microphone Amplifier to trigger 16 Flora NeoPixels is stitched using an electrically conductive thread along the length of a tie to create a silly or cool (beauty is in the eye of beholder?) wearable to go with your formal outfit. Check out the video below, which is somewhat cool and somewhat wanna-be cool.
The Flora pixels are all wired to the same ground bus, and a same power bus which is wired to VBATT. To sew the circuits in your tie, tack your Flora with plain the conductive thread by stitching some unused pads to the tie. Sew it to the back side of the tie so the front fabric remains smooth, a s shown in the picture above. Thus is ready your LED Neck Tie. Now best luck getting a date!
