Microsoft Introduces Next Generation Surface Pro Powered by 7th Gen Intel Core

By Neha Rastogi May 25, 2017

Microsoft has officially announced a new version of the Surface Pro Windows tablet, powered by 7th Generation Intel Core processors. The device is going to be available in a thinner and lighter body style with 50% longer battery life and super-fast boot times. It’s a hybrid computer that can turn a tablet into a laptop with the addition of a keyboard.

The new Windows 10 tablet offers up to 13.5 hours of battery life and flaunts a smoother, well-rounded design as compared to its predecessor. The company has also revealed a new version of the Surface Pen stylus that supports tilt recognition for sketching on the 12.3 inches high-resolution touch display.

The latest device has got sleek edges with the camera fading into the bezel. It also boasts invisible vents and a deeper hinge that moves another 15 degrees lower than the earlier version. Dimensionally, it’s 8.5 mm thin and weighs 1.69 pounds, which is lighter than the bag it will be carried in.

The new Surface Pro Signature Type Cover carries a high-quality scissor mechanism and 1.3 mm of key travel for faster and accurate typing. There is a full-size glass trackpad with multi-touch capabilities allowing ultimate precision. The keyboard is wrapped in Alcantara material offering beautiful aesthetics as well as comfort.

The Surface Pro also supports Studio Mode which helps in creating the optimal position to write or sketch. It is equipped with a 12.3-inch PixelSense Display allowing users to work with the new Surface Pen- the fastest digital pen ever.

The Surface Dial also works on-screen with the new Surface Pro which unlocks a set of unique experiences pioneered by Surface Studio. Placing the dial on the screen brings up app-specific digital tools, thereby allowing people to access shortcuts and move seamlessly through their workflow.

Available at the starting price of USD799, the Surface Pro offers customized color options for the new Surface Pro Signature Type Cover, Surface Pen, and the Arc Mouse. These color tones include Burgundy, Platinum, and Cobalt Blue.
