Ambiq Micro, a leading provider of ultra-low power solutions, has announced that Huawei has selected Apollo2 platform to power the new lineup of lightweight fitness wearables including the newly launched Huawei Band 2 Pro. The platform features high-performance sensor and application processing at a breakthrough power consumption of under 10µA/MHz, thus enabling more than twice the battery life for wearable and IoT devices and enhanced intelligence and improved functionality.
Apollo2 platform is equipped with Ambiq Micro’s patented Subthreshold Power Optimised Technology. It includes wide-range IP to drive record-breaking energy efficiency. Besides, the platform makes use of TSMC’s 40nm Near-Vt technology platform to reduce power consumption, thereby meeting the stringent power and connectivity demands of the wearables and IoT markets.

The wearables and IoT markets are rising rapidly due to which customers are demanding increased intelligence, extended battery life, and more powerful features.
