Melexis, a global supplier of micro-electronic semiconductor solution, offers the MLX81114 — a LIN slave for ambient light applications in the automotive industry. The MLX81114 can control multiple LEDs connected via LIN wire harness and features a a memory-access protection option, which enables anti-theft applications.
The new device is suitable for bus systems, according to LIN 2.x and SAE J2602. The combination of a physical layer LIN transceiver and a LIN protocol controller, along with the current-controlled outputs, make it cost-effective and simple to develop in a short timeframe.
The top features include the memory-access protection, a 16-bit pipelined RISC microcontroller, and amath co-processor for 32-bit MUL/DIV operations.
