ON Semiconductor Launches The RSL10 Sensor Development Kit For Power OPtimized IoT Apps

ON Semiconductor recently brought forth RSL10 Sensor Development Kit that will be a blessing for engineering teams seeking an extensive platform for IoT applications development with cutting-edge smart sensor technology. And bonus, this one comes loaded with the lowest power consuming Bluetooth Low Energy radio in complete industry.

What’s So Special About It?

● It brings with it the highly integrated RSL10 System-in-Package  (RSL10 SIP) with an array of some highly advanced low power sensors from Bosch Sensortec.

● The development platform comes with 9 degrees of freedom (DoF) environmental monitoring and detection that includes various factors like temperature, relative humidity, pressure, VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds), and soothing lighting.

● The RSL10 also comes with a low noise digital microphone, three programmable push-button switches, 64 kbit of EEPROM, and a user-programmable RGB.

The Vice President of Marketing in Bosch Sensortec, Dr. Peter Weigand, sais, “We were excited to work with ON Semiconductor on the RSL10 Sensor Kit. This small form-factor platform includes Bosch Sensortec’s highly integrated BME680 environmental sensor to detect a broad range of gases for air quality applications, as well as our BMM150 geomagnetic sensor and the BHI160 smart sensor for high accuracy motion sensing. The RSL10 Sensor Kit combines motion and environmental sensing with the ultra-low power capabilities of the Bluetooth 5 certified RSL10 to enable a new class of consumer and industrial IoT applications with improved sensor technology and longer battery life.”

Applications

The RSL10 Sense and Control mobile application play a key role in connecting the RSL10 Sensor Development Kit for keeping a check on the sensor as well as evaluate the features of the kit. The app can also support multiple commercial cloud platform to upload sensor data.

Availability

This kit can be availed from ON Semiconductor with several other energy-efficient rapid prototyping platforms for IoT including Bluetooth IoT Development Kit. The RSL10 can be availed in a 6mm QFN package, complete SIP (System-in-Package), 5.5mm2 WLSCP, and an integrated antenna.
