Instructables, with their incredible talent to aid newbies with simple-medium-tough tutorials by step-by-step instructions is highly appreciating. In this tutorial, a simple AC Current Sensor is constructed in three simple steps with limited equipments. It can be extremely useful for inspecting the power in mains wiring particularly the broken points in concealed wiring. Every time the investigation gets adjacent to AC Mains, the LED Sparks and buzzer honks. It can sense the line from a distance of up to 31 cm.
The materials used in this tutorial are LED, Buzzer, BC558, 100 ohm resistor, 22uF Capacitor, BC549 Transistor, 10k Resistor, 12k Resistor, JFET BFW11, 100k Resistor and Telescopic Antenna. After gathering all he required stuffs, it is time to create the Circuit. The circuit uses an n-channel FET BFW11 for sensing the mains voltage. And in the next step, assemble the circuit on a general purpose circuit board and use a miniature DC Buzzer with internal oscillator and transparent LED.
In the final step of this tutorial, a 10cm steel rod or a telescopic antenna is used as the probe and you are done with your noise making AC Current Sensor.
