The NXP has come up with the NFC (Near Field Communication) tags which combines a passive NFC interface and a contact I²C interface together with a non-volatile memory. In addition to the zero power capabilities of this family, the NTAG I2C plus provides new features like password protection, full memory access configuration from both interfaces and an originality signature for protection against cloning. It is also delivers 4 times higher data transfer performance.
This second generation of NXP’s industry leading connected tag technology maintains full backward compatibility with first-generation NTAG I²C products. The NTAG I2C is the most cost effective and ideal choice to integrate NFC capabilities into any embedded systems.
