There has been a high demand for LED bulbs all over the world in last few years. The main reason can be credited to their superb efficiency, luminosity, and economical prices. Philips has been looking forward to a new type of LED bulbs that will have same features but with a lower power consumption. These bulbs will consume 90 percent less power than their present day counterparts, The Company has been working in association with Municipality of Dubai for this purpose. Along with that, the new type of LED bulbs will have the capacity to live 15 times longer than the conventional incandescent bulbs making these the most rational choice among all available options.
Known as the Dubai Lamp Project, it was recently launched at the Water Energy, technology, and Environment Exhibition, an initiation to encourage sustainable development and reducing the city’s power consumption by 30per cent in next one and half decade. Philips has already branded itself as one of the leading LED makers in the world. It created a buzz with the launch of its new range of LED lights – the Hue bulbs that will be used to lighten up congregations, cities, stadiums, parks, and all public places all over the world. The firm is now looking forward to making its first commercial LED bulb worth 200 lumens watts, it will be one of the most efficient and powerful bulbs that have been made till date.
The range of bulbs introduced in Dubai will have four LED bulbs. These can be availed in both ‘warm white’ and ‘col daylight’ colors. Their values will vary from 1-W, 200-lm E14 candles bulb up to 2-W, 400-lm E27 Classic bulbs, a 3-W 12-V MR 16 is supposed to replace the 50-W 12-V halogen spot bulbs and finally a 3-W 600-lm E27 bulb will also be available in this series. These bulbs will be available in the market by end of this year. Meanwhile, Philips also plans to launch this new range of bulbs all over the globe.
