RECOM has introduced new DC/DC converters in the REM2A and REM4A series, designed for medical and safety-critical applications. These converters offer 5kVAC/1 min isolation and 2MOPP rating at 250VAC, with 8mm creepage and clearance. The 2W REM2A and 4W REM4A are available in both through-hole and SMD formats, featuring 2:1 input ranges from 4.5V to 75VDC.
Output options include various fixed, regulated DC voltages between 3.3V and 24V, with some dual-output options available. The REM2A operates from -40°C to +90°C, while the REM4A functions from -40°C to +80°C without derating at nominal inputs. Both series can operate up to +105°C with airflow or derating.
These converters include protection against input under-voltage, output over-current, over-voltage, and short circuits. An on/off control allows for energy management in sensitive applications. The devices are certified to IEC/EN/ANSI/AAMI 60601 3rd edition for medical safety and IEC/EN/UL62368-1 for IT applications. They are specified for operation up to 5000m in pollution degree 2 environments.
RECOM reports a Mean Time Between Failures of over 5 million hours at 25°C for both series. The compact packages measure 24.3 x 14.4 x 10.2mm and come with a three-year warranty. Samples and OEM pricing are available through authorized distributors or directly from RECOM.
