Navio+ is an inexpensive HAT for Raspberry Pi and provides a complete range of sensors, GPS, servo outputs and inputs, A2D, I2C, SPI and UART interfaces. This lets you have a Raspberry Pi compatible APM. Now APM, is the autopilot system which is also known as ArduPilot. It is the most popular open source drone system.
If you remember, our story of running Windows 10IoT on RPI 2, you will find this pretty cool. So far, autopilots have been friendly only with Linux, but now you can port the SDK from Linux to Windows Universal. How cool, is it?
This opens up great opportunities for one and all. You get rid of complicated Linux commands. A lot of things become plug and play. That’s what we love most about Windows! You can get the source code from Github. Link can be found, below.
The core SDK, is still work in progress. You can read more about it in the blog. Check out their future milestones. We are sitting tight, waiting for them to figure it out. But it will be exciting, won’t it! Read the blog to know what we are talking about.
