‘Old is gold’. We never want to get rid of our old gadgets, has been further proved with this yet another DIY which can fix your vintage radio with Raspberry Pi. The main theme of the project, is the same. Keep the old school look and make the update the functions.
This neat little DIY is done by Gordon. He enhanced a Roberts R300 radio using Pi-DigiAMP+. This Raspberry Pi HAT board takes the digital audio signals and delivers high quality stereo audio. You need 5v to 18v battery to run this setup and has on board cicuit to power the Pi. You can pair it with RuneAudio, Volumnio or any other Linux based music playback solutions. Gordon, herehas made use of Shairport Sync.
Unscrew the old radio, open it up and strip it down to its bare components. He also changes the speaker, but if yours is not so ancient, you might want to go with it. Set in the new parts. Follow the steps given in the link below. Give is a good polish and you’re done.
