Ametherm, a company that specializes in thermistors for industrial, automotive, AMS (avionics, military, and space) markets, has unveiled a new circuit thermistor. The device features industry’s smallest diameter for a UL-approved device with a maximum continuous current rating of 4.0 A and energy rating of 50 J. With the introduction of a radial lead package carrying a maximum diameter of only 15mm, the designers will be able to avail benefits like lower costs, limitation on the excess circuit board heat, faster reset times, and more board space.
Ametherm Announces a New Circuit Protection Thermistor with Industry’s Smallest Diameter
Ametherm has announced its latest circuit protection Thermistor packed with the industry’s smallest (UL-approved) diameter of 13 mm. It carries a maximum continuous current rating of 6.0 A and energy rating of 40 J. Earlier designers had to rely on devices with larger diameters ranging from 15 mm to 25 mm to attain high current and energy ratings of the new SL12 10006. However, the new device is being offered in a 13 mm diameter with 5.5 mm of height. The device has benefits like less board space, low cost, faster reset times, limiting the excess of circuit board heat.
Ametherm’s new Circuit Protection Thermistor Features Industry-Best Ratings for Resistance, Current, and Energy
Ametherm has announced the release of its all new UL-approved circuit protection thermistor viz. “SL32 0R230” that has received the industry-best ratings for hot resistance, current handling, and energy. It helps to conserve power, save space and, and incurs low cost for a wide range of applications. Interestingly, this is the only UL-approved circuit protection Thermistor available in the market featuring a maximum continuous current rating of 30 A along with “hot” resistance on the order of just 6mΩ. This, in turn, minimizes the voltage drop to a range of 0.18-0.30 V, ultimately maximizing battery life and conserving power when used in inventers and motor drives.
