Battery powered devices are all around us in daily life and we always face with low charge problems which lets us down in the middle of the day. Especially phones, music and video players, e-book readers etc. Sometimes we can’t find a mains source to plug an AC adapter or an USB port of a computer. In those cases, the battery powered USB travel charger comes to aid. It can be powered by two or three AA or AAA size batteries which you can find easily or carry with you while you are mobile. This article provides all the steps of the design and the manufacturing process of DIY Battery Powered USB Travel Charger project. We will draw the circuit, and PCB by using SoloPCB tools which are free and powerful to cover all our needs. When we finish the board, we will get the PCBs manufactured by Mass Design which has an ordering system integrated to SoloPCB. After receiving the bare boards, we will solder the components, power the circuit up and finally share the test & performance results.
Battery level indicator will let you know the status of battery of a device just by glowing the number of LED’s. For example four LED’s are glowing means battery capacity is 40 percent. You can use this circuit with your inverter or with your car battery; it will give you indication about your battery status. The concept of commercialized hydrogen based rechargeable batteries was sought in 1960s but inability to store hydrogen in small cells was a big hindrance. In the mid 90s, technological achievement was unlocked and commercial production of NiMH batteries became possible.A single AA standard NiMH cell gives 1.2V of outputs and can serve for an average of 2-3 years. The efficiency of these cells is around 70-80% and remains constant for a long period of time. This is a prominent reason for mass popularity of these cells.

Digital Thermometers are mercury free. These thermometers contain thermistor inside the tip which is used to measure the temperature. They provide quick and highly accurate results over the body temperature range. These thermometers are easy to read with LCD display on them. They are equipped with beep alarm & memory function and can record a wide range of temperature. Doctor’s thermometer which are mostly used can read temperature between 94oF and 105oF (35oC and 42oC). A Lithium coin battery is a sub category of primary batteries. The name is derived from the shape which resembles a coin. Both the types i.e., disposable and rechargeable are available in the market in a variety of sizes. Some common applications are wrist watches, calculators, hearing aids, RTC, sensors, motherboard (to keep the time and date updated), memory units etc. The battery used in this article is disposable type. The key chemical constituents are Lithium, Manganese oxide and an organic electrolyte. The voltage range for these types of batteries varies from 1.5V to 3.7 V. When used in a device or to power an electronic circuit the polarities should be properly taken care of else it may result in distortion, leakage, overheating, explosion or fire thereby damaging the device.
