Fiat Chrysler has joined BMW Group, Intel and Mobileye to form an alliance and sign a Memorandum of Understanding. The aim is to develop a world-leading, state-of-the-art autonomous driving platform for global deployment. This cooperation will allow the partners to leverage each other’s strengths, capabilities, and resources. It would result in enhanced platform technology, less time to market, and increased development efficiency. Currently, the collaboration is on-track to deploy 40 autonomous test vehicles on the road by the end of this year. It also hopes to leverage data and learning from the recently announced 100 Level 4 test vehicle fleet of Mobileye, demonstrating the scale effect of this collaborative approach.
