Microchip Unveils Low-Voltage 64 Megabit Serial Quad I/O SuperFlash Memory
Microchip Technology has introduced a new 1.8V Serial Quad I/O SuperFlash memory device. The SST26WF06C is a low voltage 64 megabit device that combines Dual Transfer Rate (DTR) with proprietary SuperFlash NOR Flash technology, thus making it ideally suitable for wireless and battery-powered applications.DTR allows customers to output data on both edges of the clock which not only reduces the overall data access time but also brings down the power consumption. The typical chip erase time for the SST26 WF064C ranges between 35 and 50 milliseconds (ms), while the competitive flash devices take more than 30 seconds to erase.
Microchip’s Next-Gen In-Circuit Debugger Unveiled with Unparalleled Speed and Flexibility
Microchip Technology Inc has introduced the MPLAB-ICD 4, an in-circuit programming and debugging development tool for Microchip’s PIC microcontroller (MCU) and dsPIC digital signal controller portfolios. The debugger includes all features of the popular MPLAB ICD 3 tool with added speed through a faster processor and increased RAM. The MPLAB ICD 4’s improved speed is the result of a 32-bit MCU running at 300 MHz. Further, the faster processing, along with an increased buffer memory of 2MB gives way to a product which is up to twice as fast as its predecessor. Housed in a durable, black case with a brushed aluminum top, the puck-shaped debugger is accented with an LED light strip to indicate the debugging status.
Microchip Technology Introduces New High-Speed Solution for In-Vehicle Infotainment Networks
Microchip Technology has recently announced the availability of a high-speed network solution for in-vehicle infotainment with device control over Internet Protocol (IP). Unified Centralized Software Stack (UNICENS) is a software module available without any charge to Microchip customers who use Intelligent Network Interface Controllers (INIC) like the OS81118, OS81119, and any future INICs. The software encompasses many network specifics and enables customers to focus on the application development rather than being burdened by network management details. It also allows customers to choose the device control methods as per their preference. These methods include Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST) technology’s FBlock, Ethernet IP, and customer specific methods.
Microchip Announces the Availability of Wi-Fi Software Development Kit with Apple HomeKit Support
Microchip technology Inc., a leading provider of microcontroller, mixed-signal, analog and Flash-IP solutions; has announced the availability of a fully-certified Wi-Fi Software Development Kit (SDK) WITH Apple HomeKit support. This SDK enables MFi licenses to create fast, low-power designs on the industry’s first hardware cryptography enabled Wi-Fi based development kit. This Wi-Fi SDK combines hardware cryptography suites within the CEC1702, a full-featured ARM® Cortex®-M4-based microcontroller (MCU), with the industry-proven WINC1510, a low-power 802.11 b/g/n certified Wi-Fi module. The hardware-based security engines within this Wi-Fi HomeKit solution greatly reduce system calculation times, resulting in a fast and friendly end-user experience.
