Tektronix, an industry-leading innovator of video test, monitoring, and diagnostic solutions, has unveiled comprehensive video on demand (VOD) and live OTT monitoring solutions. This will enable the video content distributors to meet the challenge of ensuring the availability as well as the quality of both live and file-based content.
These solutions allow broadcaster and other video distributors using cloud, virtual or physical networks to ensure good quality of the content. These solutions have been designed while keeping the scalability in mind. Hence, broadcasters can start at any level as per their needs.
With the emergence of new business models and key technologies like cloud workflows, the monitoring solutions must be adaptable enough to accommodate future services. Based on the Sentry Platform, the Tektronix OTT Monitoring Solution for live content provides monitoring and diagnostics anywhere from cloud ingest through to content delivery networks (CDNs).

As far as the file-based analysis is concerned, the company’s Aurora file-based QC solution delivers similar flexibility and scalability. Aurora enables broadcasters to verify the correct encoding for all ABR profiles and ensures error-free packaging.
Further, in order to meet the challenges posed by the traditional methods of picture quality management, the company has introduced TekMOS technology. It uses machine learning techniques to evaluate picture quality and identify distortions based on a large training set of subjectively graded images.
