Tektronix, Inc., a leading provider of test, measurement, and monitoring instrumentation, has announced to enter the Vector Network Analyzer Market with TTR500 Series USB VNA. This new offering is going to add to the Tektronix portfolio of disruptive USB-based RF test instruments.
Similar to the brand’s existing USB-based spectrum analyzers, the latest TTR500 Series delivers a high performance at a low price. To be precise, it offers a dynamic range of 122dB and 6GHz of frequency range at a cost which is 40% less than the alternatives from competitors. Besides, it carries advanced features like new VectorVu-PC analysis software and the only built-in bias tee for testing devices in the category.
There is a critical need for VNAs amongst designers and students but these are too expensive to afford. So, TTR500 Series lowers the entry barrier by offering an easy-to-use user interface for common tasks. Its small and compact form factor doesn’t require to be rolled around a shared VNA.

The Series renders a full 2-port, 2-port S-parameter VNA for applications like measuring passive/active components, RF modules, antennas and matching networks, adapters, test cables, etc. Moving on to the specifications, it offers 100 kHz to 6 GHz frequency range, 122dB dynamic range, _50 to +7dBm output power, and less than 0.008 dB trace noise, all in a package weighing less than 4 pounds.
Another unique feature of the TTR500 Series is its built-in bias tee that is accessible on both ports and allows active devices to be easily biased, allowing for 0 to ± 24V, and 0-200 mA. It can works with any Windows PC or laptop and offers full point as well as click usability with the ease of PC-based networking for saving and sharing files.
Pricing & Availability
The TTR500 Series vector network analyzer is available now and pricing starts at € 8,920/ £ 7,570 for a 3 GHz instrument. It can be availed with a robust set of accessories including a rugged carrying case, rack mount kits, rugged phase-stable cables, attenuators, adapters and calibration kits.
