Animating day to day things we use is one sure method to increase our interest in the things around. Among all these day to day things we use, clocks stand as a very basic piece of hardware we come across. Offices, computers, cars, restaurants…it is impossible to find a social place without clocks or some sort of time display machine being there. Presence of large sized clocks is even a significant identity for some places (Big Ben)!! So, how to spice up clocks? Give them more features? Embed a TV in them? Hire a model to tell the time regularly?
How about giving it a look similar to the favorite animated character? Would you like Pac man telling you the time? Well buying is always in option, but how about making one like that?
Using the popular Arduino, you can do it. A few more components like LEDs, wires, battery would be needed along with a lot of patience and exploration zeal. Easing out the task here would be a number of electronic manufacturers who, with the help of Arduino freaks like Florin who will pave the path of easiness with DIY’in such projects.
