Time shifter is transmission of data through time based covert channels across a network. Unlike steganography and cryptography, you can hide data in time intervals. You can generate zero and one bits by the amount of time delays, between two packets. Since, it is a work in progress the author has given improvement suggestions as well, like you could use hamming codes for better error correction or make use of STOP bits for synchronization.
To manipulate the timing delays for packets load the iptables NFQUEUE modules into the Linux Kernel. The sourcecode to execute the TimeShifter has been given in the link below. Run it and let us know! And if you can come up with some more ideas to improve this, we would love to hear you out.
