Trash-Vac!!
At times, we have to face the problem of air being trapped under the bag and the simplest solution is to drill a few holes in the bottom. Well, there is no harm to add little fun in it and Instructables do know, how to add the pleasure in it. In this project, after the button is pressed, the fan sucks all the air out and creates a nice fit for the bag inside the can.
The project hardly takes an hour to be completed unless all the parts and tools are available. The materials needed for this project are Trash Can, Computer Fan, Momentary Switch, AC/DC Adapter and1/2 inch pipe strap. Make sure that the AC/DC adapter have the same voltage as both have approximately the same current. Here, a 12 volt / 3 amp fan and adapter is used.
Here, the fan is placed on the inside and traced around it for a properly sized cutout. Further, a plastic container lid was used, of the same diameter as the fan, for a more precise cutout. Make sure, you make a proper hole and if the cutout is too big then you won’t have the proper seal needed to work.
Next, the fan is mounted on the exterior and secured with tape. Drill the first hole and place a nail in it to keep that position stable in place. This is followed by three holes in the same manner as first. The fan is mounted on the inside with the airflow directed out of the can.
Now, the insulation off the wires are stripped and screwed onto the switch. A knot is tied in the wire and a rubber boot is added on it. Now, install the switch by drilling two more holes using the pipe strap as a guide. Another third hole is drilled for the wire to poke inside the trashcan.
Make sure to cutoff the extra length of each bolt and also remove any sharp edges. Now, wire it up by drilling a hole at the base of the trash, just big enough for the outlet plug to dig through. With black as negative and red as positive, the black wire is screwed in from the fan to the negative post of the power input. While the positive wire from the fan is connected to the red wire leading to the switch.
Use a duct tape to hold all the wires and finally plug it in and try it out. For more details, click on the following link – :
