I know reading this has lightened up your eyes. Yes, you can use Raspberry Pi as a Torrent Server and it would be much more effective and smarter to have a RPi download things for you day and night then a laptop or PC. The consumption of power and the occupation of bandwidth would be excellent on the high end machines.
What you need is a Raspberry Pi running either Raspbian or RaspBMC, remote access to PI using SS and a storage device. For this project, Calum Thompson used a USB memory stick. Now, first of all, you need to ensure that the Raspberry Pi’s software is completely up to date. Once that is done, install and configure the Deluge daemon and console. The latest Deluge client is available here. Once it is downloaded, you need to run the Deluge desktop client and turn off classic mode.
You will need to configure where the Deluge should download your torrent files. Since Calum was using a USB memory stick, he chose that. One can choose any media device or even a Network Share as long as one has permission to write on it.
All the best using your Raspberry Pi as a Torrent Server!
