Wearable for detecting fertility
Science has reached to a level which can explain various types of role played by your body temp and also its ability to uncover different unnoticed activities taking place in your body. Basal body temperature (BBT) can be defined as the body’s temperature which reaches at its lowest during sleep. Using this idea, women can actually track their menstrual cycles and find out days when they are most likely to conceive.
To bring accuracy, it is necessary to correctly record basal body temperatures at the same time in each morning. It is a difficult task to track temp especially for those who have irregular schedules or sleep patterns. Therefore Tempdrop has come to rescue to record your BBT. It is a wearable sensor which allows people to monitor and record their temperatures accurately in every morning.
The data collected in the Tempdrop is then integrated into any fertility app with few lines of code. Generally, the person reaches its lowest body temperature in about two hours of uninterrupted sleep and Tempdrop has to be worn while asleep. It can be worn with an armband or stuck directly to the skin and while the users sleep, the device records fluctuating body temperatures.
Further, this tracking methodology is also useful for people suffering from thyroid disease. The device is not only equipped with temperature sensor but it also has three-axis accelerometer, which tracks your sleep quality along with skin temperature measurement and ambient temperatures. This all in one device, provides data with better accuracy as compared to other fitness trackers.
