C++ is an object oriented, general purpose computer programming language with features like classes, encapsulation, polymorphism and inheritance. It was developed by Bjarne Stroustrup in Bell Labs and released in 1985 as an enhancement of C language. It is one of the most popular programming languages used in development of system software, application software, device drivers, embedded systems, etc.
C++ is known as intermediate level language as it has features of both high level and low level languages. It influenced many other programming languages such as C# and Java.
