Cache is a high speed, short term storage. It is used to speed up the certain computer operations by placing a copy of data to a location (either a reserved section of main memory) where it can be accessed faster than the normal. For example a web browser generally stores web pages in the cache memory so that it can serve faster the next time the page is requested.
