GPS (Global Positioning System) is a satellite based navigation system made up of 24 satellites which provides the location and time information of anywhere on the earth. GPS works in all weather conditions, thus helping users track locations, objects, and even individuals! GPS technology can be used by any person if they have a GPS receiver.
It was started by the U.S. government to help the military vehicles, soldiers, planes to determine the exact locations worldwide. It is maintained by the U.S. government and is freely available for all the users.
