Passive RFID tags relies on the energy of radio frequency transferred from reader to tag for powering it. It contains a coiled antenna which is responsible for generating magnetic field when it comes in the range of an RFID reader. This magnetic field provides the necessary power to the circuitry for operation and transfers the unique information.
