An RFID tag is a microchip with memory, antenna and some circuitry put together in a compact package. It stores unique information about the identity of the tag. RFID tags are available in different shapes and sizes depending on the application. Whenever a RFID tags comes in the vicinity of an RFID reader it transmits the unique identity information stored in it wirelessly, through the antenna.
