WAN or Wide Area Network is a large network of computer systems that can consist of two or more LANs (Local Area Networks) or MANs (Metropolitan Area Networks). The computers connected through a WAN are generally connected through the public telecommunication networks – like telephone system or satellites, and generally access is open for the public. An example of WAN is – ‘Internet’.
