So now you can wirelessly control power outlets from your phone. You need Raspberry Pi and a few RF power outlets and you can have your very own DIY 5 power outlets, which can be toggled from the internet or phone. Now no more, ‘forgot to switch it off!’ It can be used to control all your electronics, right from your smart phones.
You need minimal components:
1.Etekcity 5 Pack
2.433Mhz RF Transmitter and Receiver
3.Raspberry Pi B+ Ultimate Starter Kit
You start with installing Raspbian on Raspberry Pi and Wiring Pi. PHP and Apache are needed to create a web interface for toggling. And then you need the software, whose code you can get in the link. Follow the easy ten steps given in the guide and you’re done! But if you are using different GPIO pins, there is a different program; don’t get confused there. Use the RFSniffer to find the right codes for your device from the git files.
To increase the converge, you could add an antenna or even schedule the switch toggling over RF and a Wi-Fi connection powered by the Pi. Head over to the source link and DIY!
