It is true that IoT means Internet of Things, however, Jeff Crume feels a little differently. A Distinguished IBM Engineer, author, and inventor, Jeff feel that since, the concept stands as a reference for so many standalone devices like medical equipment, cars, thermostats, washer, dryers, and others it can also stand for toilets. The point is to create a high tech toilet that can be controlled via Bluetooth enabled phone from a distance. As per Jeff, there are a number of tasks that can be performed through this method, some of the most common ones include flushing, raising the lower seat of commode, turning on the bidet feature, and lot many others.
The biggest hurdle was a slight hesitation about bringing water, most sensitive body parts, and electricity in such close vicinity. Another biggest flaw in this system that he discovered was that if the Bluetooth can be accessed can by anyone which means all these features can be operated by anyone else without your permission.
The same is the “case” with the MY SATIS “luxury toilet that was developed by him. The biggest hassles is that the Bluetooth code for all such devices has been coded as “0000” and it cannot be altered. It also implies that anyone with an Android phone can access the app by downloading it and can connect your porcelain and have a great time on your expense.
However, if a concept like this has come to light, the better solutions for this will also come to surface in coming times. We hope that Jeff finds suitable solution for this issue ASAP and bring up the concept of techy-toilet soon for all
