Mother Nature is the most majestic feature on the earth in all the three forms: land, water and air. Admiration of her and gaining knowledge from here have been one of the most basic human tendencies since ages. As a result we have made and experienced several attempts where one or both of these tendencies have been tried to accomplish. Keeping on the hunt for amazing views along with fetching some worthy information is Alex Kozitsky’s MARVK. Abbreviated for Modular and Versatile Reference Kit, MARVK is a weather balloon which is capable to collect significant data from surrounding and click some awesome images.
The initial draft of MVARK will take these three readings:
- pressure reading,
-
Inside temperature reading (outside temperature reading may also be developed),
- A GPS reading that also contains the altitude, coarse heading and speed.
This weather balloon, can reach up to certain elevations and click images of the Earth’s curvature like the one shown below or can gather information about the surrounding atmosphere.
The project has been made open and Alex has given all the data and files he needs are necessary for it. Immensely useful for photography purposes and meteorological purposes, MVARK covers major avionic aspects and is highly efficient in terms of battery consumption. The system would be soon ready for its take off and after it, more electronic enthusiasts would be ready to DIY this system. For some it can be a fun project while for some it can be a good source to plan something (like farming, picnics etc.).
