78XX is the family of linear voltage regulator integrated circuits. These are designed for postive voltage regulation and have just pin outs: voltage input, voltage output and ground. This circuit is a slight modification to the earlier explained regulated power supply circuit. The stable output from the voltage regulator can be enhanced by using this circuit. This is achieved by addition of extra voltage drop to the regulated output voltage. Let’s into a deeper know-how of this project. The circuit also uses diodes as a bridge rectifier, a few capcaitances that assist the 78XX IC in boosting voltages. Continue reading to find out how this circuit can be constructed and what connections can be made to make this circuit work efficiently.
